In the match no. 51 of the season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014), Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 20 Runs.
Having won the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Delhi Daredevils elected to field first.
Mumbai Indians had a good start with both openers playing well. Lendl Simmons made a quick fire 35 of just 25 balls. Michael Hussey played brilliantly scoring 56 runs of just 33 balls. Rohit Sharma scored a quick fire 30 of just 21 runs. Mumbai were 140/3 in the 14th over and it looked that they will easily score more than 200 runs but then the collapse started. The team kept on loosing wickets and in the end were bowled out for 173 runs in 19.3 overs.

For Delhi Daredevils, Imran Tahir picked up three wickets, Jaidev Unadkat picked up two wickets while Wayne Parnell and Shahbaz Nadeem picked up one wicket each.
Chasing this target, Delhi Daredevils had a good start with Kevin Pietersen scoring 44 runs of 31 balls but did not get good support at the other end as Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik got out for single digit scores. Manoj Tiwary and JP Duminy played well and brought Delhi very much near to the target but in the end Mumbai Indians restricted Delhi on a score of 158/4 thanks to great death bowling by Marchant de Lange and Jasprit Bumrah.
For Mumbai Indians, Marchant de Lange picked up two wickets while Shreyas Gopal and Harbhajan Singh picked up one wicket each.
Winning this match, Mumbai Indians keep their Playoff hopes alive. Now they have to hope that Rajasthan loose the second match of the day.
Michael Hussey was named the Man Of The Match for his brilliant batting performance in the match.
