Winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders elected to bat first and put on the board a total of 152/6 in 20 overs. Gautam Gamhir scored 50 runs of 44 balls while Ryan ten Doeschate scored 31 runs of 21 balls.

In reply chasing the target, once again the top order of the Pune Warriors India failed and the team got bowled out for 106 in 19.3 overs. Angelo Mathews was the top scorer with 40 runs of 28 balls and Robin Uthappa scored 31 runs of 35 balls.
