Born on 14th December 1988, Biplab Samantray is an domestic Indian Cricketer who plays for Odisha in domestic cricket. He also plays in the Indian Premier League.
An all-rounder from Orissa, bats right-handed and is a useful change bowler. Samantray, who has played four first-class seasons so far, scored his maiden hundred last season when he made 171 against Uttar Pradesh. He was his team’s leading scorer in the Ranji Trophy in the last season.

He was bought by Deccan Chargers in the 2012 Players Auction and played IPL 2012 with them. However he just got one match to play in the season.
He will play the 2013 season for new owners of the team from the Deccan under the Sunrisers Hyderabad banner.
