Video : Kieron Pollard throws Bat at Mitchell Starc – Ugly Spat

Kieron Pollard throws Bat at Mitchell Starc

Aggression and cricket always goes hand in hand but in yesterday’s match, there was an angry confrontation between Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc.

After exchanging a few words, Mitchell Starc came in to bowl his next delivery on which Kieron Pollard pulled away from the crease after a distraction.

However, Mitchell Starc, the Australian seamer for Royal Challengers Bangalore, still delivered the ball and directed it to Pollard’s body, to which the West Indian reacted by throwing his bat in the bowler’s direction.

The umpires got involved to cool things down but even RCB skipper Virat Kohli seemed unhappy with Pollard’s reaction, though Starc was equally at fault for those ugly scenes.

Just imagine what would have happened if the ball would have hit Pollard or the bat would have hit Starc.

Pollard produced a typically thunderous innings of 43 runs off 31 ball and supported Rohit Sharma well who scored 59 runs to help Mumbai Indians reach a score of 187/5 in their 20 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore eventually lost the match ending their innings for 168/8 in 20 overs.

In fact one interesting thing happened in the match – “Starc runs out Pollard!! Pollard caught Starc!! Both involved in each other’s dismissal without taking their wicket! So battle ends in tie!”

After the match read a nice comment on twitter - A while ago he threw the bat. Now he kicked the ball. Pollard sure plays the game differently!
