An all-rounder, he is an aggressive left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.

He was a part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2010 but got to play only one match in his debut season. He was a part of Kochi Tuskers Kerala in IPL 2011 and played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2012.
In the players auction for IPL 2013, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for US $ 675,000. In 2013 he played 16 matches for the team in which he took 19 wickets at an average of 25.15.
In players auction for IPL 2014, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 1.6 Crores.
