In the match no. 39 of the season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beat SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 6 Wickets.
Having won the toss at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab elected to field first.
SunRisers Hyderabad had a good start with both openers playing. Shikhar Dhawan scored 45 runs of 37 balls but it was Naman Ojha who played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 79 runs of just 36 balls to help his team post their highest total of IPL 2014. SunRisers Hyderabad scored 205/5 in their 20 overs. David Warner also scored a quick fire 44 runs of 23 balls.

For Kings XI Punjab, Rishi Dhawan picked up two wickets, Shivam Sharma and Sandeep Sharma picked up one wicket each.
Chasing this big score, Kings XI Punjab lost Virender Sehwag in the first over itself. But Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha played brilliantly and slaughtered he bowlers. Manan Vohra scored 47 runs of just 20 balls while Wriddhiman Saha scored 54 of just 26 runs. It did not stop there then came Glenn Maxwell who scored 43 runs of 22 balls. In the end George Bailey scored unbeaten 35 of 19 balls to win the match for his team in 19th over loosing 5 wickets.
Kings XI Punjab reached the score of 100 in the 7th over – fastest ever in IPL history. They reached 150 in the 12th over again fastest ever in IPL history.
For SunRisers Hyderabad, Karan Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up one wicket each.
Wriddhiman Saha was named the Man Of The Match for his brilliant batting performance in the match.
It was raining SIXES at Hyderabad with both team hitting the ball mercilessly. Hyderabad hit 12 sixes in the match while Punjab hit 9 sixes.
