As expected the team retained Rohit Sharma, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard and Harbhajan Singh. They also retained Ambati Rayudu.

The only surprise was that they did not retain Mitchell Johnson.

It will be interesting to see whether Mumbai will use their ‘right-to-match’ card to buy Mitchell Johnson back during the players auction.

Auction purse remaining: Rs 210 million
Right-to-match cards available: 1 (not eligible for a capped India player)
