The defending IPL champion team, Mumbai Indians (MI) announced its list of players retained for IPL 2014 ahead of the deadline of January 10, 2014.
The players auction for IPL 2014 will take place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13, 2014.
Mumbai Indians (MI) team choose to retain five players (the maximum a team can retain).

As expected the team retained Rohit Sharma, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard and Harbhajan Singh. They also retained Ambati Rayudu.
The only surprise was that they did not retain Mitchell Johnson.
It will be interesting to see whether Mumbai will use their ‘right-to-match’ card to buy Mitchell Johnson back during the players auction.
Auction purse remaining: Rs 210 million
Right-to-match cards available: 1 (not eligible for a capped India player)
