The season 8 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2015) will start on Wednesday, 8th April 2015 with the first match of the season 8 being played between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Kolkata’s Eden Park.
But, today, a day earlier, the Opening Night of Pepsi IPL 2015 will take place…..This ceremony is something just like the Opening Ceremony of IPL.

The ‘Opening Nite’ celebration of Pepsi IPL 2015 will take place LIVE on Tuesday, 7 April 2015, at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata to kick start the season 8 of Indian Premier League.

According to media reports, Saif Ali Khan will be the host of the show and the show will have live dazzling performances from Bollywood superstars which include likes of Farhan Akhtar & Band, Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Pritam & Band and Hrithik Roshan.
Apart from this, the Opening Nite of IPL 2015 the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge will be taken by captains of all eight IPL teams, reaffirming the values in IPL’s commitment to the Spirit of Cricket, which has been on display since the competition’s inception in 2008.
After this, Gautam Gambhir, captain of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders, will put the trophy back in play, signalling the start of the 2015 season of the competition.
This opening nite celebrations of IPL 2015 will start at 7:30 pm and will last for around 2 hours.
