He is elder brother of Brendon McCullum who also plays cricket for New Zealand.
Nathan McCullum is a member of the Otago Volts, competing in the State Championship, State Shield and State Twenty20 competitions and represented New Zealand in Twenty20 Internationals and One Day Internationals.
He made his IPL debut in 2011 playing for Pune Warriors India and got to play just 2 matches in the season. He missed out in IPL 2012.
He was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad in the players auction for IPL 2013 for US $100,000.
