Born on 11th September 1976, Murali Kartik is a former Indian cricketer who sporadically represented the India national cricket team since 2000. He currently plays in the Indian Premier League and also plays for Railways in domestic cricket.

Murali Kartik is a specialist slow left arm orthodox bowler known for his loopy trajectory and ability to spin and bounce.

He was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL Player Auction 2008 and played three IPL seasons (2008, 2009 and 2010) with them.

The Pune Warriors India bought him at the IPL Player Auction 2011 and played in IPL 2011 and IPL 2012 with them.

Ahead of the players auction for IPL 2013 he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for US$ 400,000. In last season he took 9 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 31.55.

In his IPL career so far, in six seasons of IPL Murali Kartik has played in 54 IPL matches and has taken 30 wickets at an average of 43.23. He has also scored 113 runs with the bat with an average of 16.14.

In players auction for IPL 2014, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 1 Crore.

Lets hope he can perform better this season playing for KXIP.
