In the Match 15 of season 6 of the Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2013), playing at their home ground in Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Indians team defeated the Pune Warriors Team and climbed to the top of the points table.

Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Pune Warriors India (PWI) by 41 Runs.

This is the third consecutive victory for Mumbai Indians after loosing the first game of the season.

Having won the toss, the Ricky Ponting decided to bat first and Mumbai Indians posted a total of 183/3 in 20 overs thanks to key contributions by Sachin Tendulkar, Dinesh Karthik and a brilliant innings of 62 not out of 32 balls by Rohit Sharma.

For Pune Warriors India, Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh and Mitchell Marsh took one wicket each.

In Reply, Pune Warriors India lost the wicket of Aaron Finch, the man who played brilliantly against Rajasthan Royals on the first ball of the innings by Mitchell Johnson. The team could never recover from that and kept loosing wickets and ended up on 142/8 at the end of 20 overs.

For Mumbai Indian, Mitchell Johnson took three wickets while Pragyan Ojha, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard took one wicket each.

Rohit Sharma for his brilliant innings was declared Man of the Match.
