MI vs CSK IPL 2013 Match 49 Result : Mumbai beat Chennai by 60 Runs

In the Match 49 of season 6 of the Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2013), playing at their home ground in Mumbai, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 60 Runs.

Having won the toss, Mumbai Indians elected to bat first but on a high scoring wicket managed to post a total of 139/5 in their 20 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with unbeaten 39 runs of 30 balls.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets while R Ashwin and Dwayne Bravo took one wicket each.

In reply, chasing this small total Chennai Super Kings had a lucky start with Michael Hussey dropped thrice in the first over of the match on three successive balls by Kieron Pollard, but still they got bowled out for their lowest total in IPL history. The team got bowled out for 79 runs in 15.2 overs.  Michael Hussey was top scorer with 22 runs of 26 balls.

For Mumbai Indians, Mitchell Johnson and Pragyan Ojha took three wickets each, Lasith Malinga took two wickets while Paway Suyal and Harbhajan Singh took one wicket each.

Mumbai Indians’ 60-run win now is their biggest by runs margin against Chennai Super Kings in the history of IPL and it is also the largest by runs margin at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
