In the Match 59 of season 6 of the Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2013), SunRisers Hyderabad defeated Kings XI Punjab in front of their home crowd in Mohali, Punjab.

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Kings XI Punjab by 30 Runs.

Having Won the toss, Kings XI Punjab elected to field first and sent in SunRisers Hyderabad to bat in first. They posted a total of 150/7 in 20 overs thanks to brilliant half century by Parthiv Patel who scored 61 runs of 47 balls and at end Thisara Perera scored 32 runs of 19 balls.

For Kings XI Punjab Sandeep Sharma took three wickets while Parvinder Awana, Harmeet Singh and Piyush Chawla took one wicket each.

In reply, Punjab were under pressure from the start itself as they lost wicket of Mandeep Singh in the first over of their innings and were always kept under control by some brilliant bowling by SunRisers Hyderabad team. Kings XI Punjab ended on 120/9 in 20 overs.

For SunRisers Hyderabad, Darren Sammy took four wickets, Dale Steyn took two wickets while Thisara Perera took one wicket.

Darren Sammy was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling effort.
