KXIP vs KKR IPL 2013 Match 20 Result : Punjab beat Kolkata by 4 Runs

In the Match 20 of season 6 of the Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2013), Kings XI Punjab pulled up a brilliant win defeating Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 4 runs.

Sunil Narine’s Hat-trick for the Kolkata Knight Riders went in vain.

Having won the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) elected to filed first. For Kings XI Punjab Mandeep Singh scored 41 runs of 30 balls. Then in the middle overs, Sunil Narine took a hat-trick and resulted in batting collapse for Kings XI Punjab team, but then Manpreet Gony scored a brilliant innings of 42 of 18 balls to help team reach a total of 157/9 in 20 overs.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine and Jacques Kallis took three wickets while Sachithra Senanayake took two wickets and Lakshmipathy Balaji took one wicket.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders had a good start with captain Gautam Gambhir scoring 60 of 39 balls and Eoin Morgan scoring 47 of 38 balls. But once Gambhir got out in 13th over wickets started tumbling and the team could manage to reach 152/9 at the end of 20th over.

For Kings XI Punjab, Azhar Mahmood took three wickets, Praveen Kumar and Parvinder Awana took two wickets each while Manpreet Gony took one wicket.

It was a good comeback for the Kings XI Punjab after loosing their last two matches.
