Pune Warriors India (PWI) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 7 Runs.

Having Won the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders elected to field first and sent in Pune Warriors India to bat first. They posted a total of 170/4 in 20 overs. Manish Pandey scored 66 runs of 47 balls and captain Aaron Finch scored 48 runs of 32 balls.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Sachithra Senanayake and Jacques Kallis took one wicket.

In reply chasing this big target, Kolkata Knight Riders kept on loosing wickets and ended on 163/7 in 20 overs, loosing the match by 7 runs. Yusu Pathan scored 72 runs of 40 balls before he was given out for obstructing the field. Ryan ten Doeschate scored 42 of 30 balls.

For Pune Warriors India, Wayne Parnell took two wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishwar Pandey took one wicket each.

Manish Pandey was named Man of the Match for his brilliant batting performance.

With this loss, Kolkata Knight Riders are out of IPL 2013 and wont be able to defend their IPL title they won last year.
