Kolkata are IPL 2014 Champions !!!
In the final match of season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 3 Wickets.
Having won the toss at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders elected to field first.
Kings XI Punjab did not have best of the starts loosing the wickets of Virender Sehwag and Bailey early. However Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha played brilliantly. Manan Vohra made a half century, scoring 67 runs of 52 balls but it was Wriddhiman Saha who became the first player to score a century in final of IPL. He made unbeaten 115 runs of just 55 balls. In the end Kings XI Punjab managed to reach a score of 199/4 in their 20 overs.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, Piyush Chawla picked up two wickets while Umesh Yadav and Sunil Narine picked up one wicket each.

Chasing this very big total, Kolkata Knight Riders lost the wicket of inform Robin Uthappa early and soon Gautam Gambhir got out. However Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan played well. Manish Pandey made a brilliant 94 runs of 50 balls. Yusuf Pathan scored 36 runs of 22 balls. In the middle they lost a few wickets but then in the end Piyush Chawla scored 13 runs of just 5 balls to win the match for Kolkata. In the end they achieved the target in the 20th over loosing 7 wickets.
Manish Pandey was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance.
