In the match no. 47 of the season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014),  Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 Wickets.

Having won the toss at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first.

Chennai Super Kings lost the wicket of Dwayne Smith early but then Brendon McCullum and Suresh Raina carried on the innings. Suresh Raina made a brilliant half century scoring, 65 runs of 52 balls. In the end Francois du Plessis and MS Dhoni chiped in useful runs and team reached a score of 154/4 on a spinning track

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine and Piyush Chawla picked up one wicket each.

Chasing this modest total, Kolkata Knight Riders had a good start with both openers playing well. Robin Uthappa scored 67 runs of just 39 balls and then at the end Shakib Al Hasan scored useful unbeaten 46 runs of 21 balls. In the end Kolkata easily chased the target in 19th over loosing two wickets.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ishwar Pandey and Ravindra Jadeja picked up one wicket each.

Shakib Al Hasan  was named the Man Of The Match for his brilliant batting performance in the match.
