Today, December 15, Delhi Daredevils released three star players in a move to start afresh in the season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2015).

Delhi Daredevils released last edition’s skipper and biggest star Kevin Pietersen along with Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay.

The team has retained 11 players from the last season of IPL said Hemant Dua, Chief Executive Officer of Delhi Daredevils.

Explaining the decision to release these star players, Dua explained: “It was the decision of the Daredevils management. The rationale behind releasing some of the marquee players is going into the auction with a bigger purse and also look from the perspective of being cost effective.”

The team also released Ross Taylor and Laxmi Ratan Shukla but retained some other Indian players like Manoj Tiwary and Kedar Jadhav.

Meanwhile, Season 8 of Indian Premier League (IPL 2015) is scheduled to start on 8th April 2015.
