Breaking News of the moment comes from the field of cricket where BCCI has announced that Pune and Rajkot will be the two new teams for a period of two years, replacing the suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
The dates of IPL 2016 and Players auction for IPL 2016 were also announced.

The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2016) will be held from 9th April to 29th May 2016 and players auction for IPL 2015 will be held in Bengaluru on 6th February 2016.

The name of the Pune franchisee is New Rising Pune and the name of the Rajkot franchisee is Intex Rajkot.
The franchisees will be having draft picks on 15 December, and Pune will get to pick the players first.
The new cities were chosen after a reverse bidding process in which a franchise that claims the least from the BCCI’s coffers wins. In the bidding, both winners, did not ask for any BCCI assistance but on the other hand will be contributing from their side to the BCCI.
New Rising were the best bidder, offering to pay the BCCI Rs 16 crore while Intex were second best by agreeing to pay the Board Rs 10 crore.
Earlier Pepsi has opted out with IPL sponsorship and IPL found a new sponsor.
