The Indian Premier League (IPL) commends the highest wicket-taker with The Purple Cap. The Purple Cap is given to the top performers with the ball throughout the T20 tournament as a token of admiration for the best bowler.
In each of the play off games, the highest wicket taker, till the start of the match, wears a Purple Cap on the field while fielding.
