Having won the toss at the Freoz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, Delhi Daredevils elected to bat first.

Delhi Daredevils lost the wicket of Quinton de Kock early. Even captain Kevin Pietersen got out early. Dinesh Karthik and JP Duminy played well. Dinesh Karthik scored 36 runs of 22 balls while JP Duminy was unbeaten on 40 of 28 balls. In the end Delhi Daredevils reached the score of 160/5 in their 20 overs.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Jacques Kallis, Umesh Yadav, Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine picked up one wicket each.

Chasing this score, Kolkata Knight Riders had a good start with both openers playing well. Robin Uthappa got out in the 12th over after scoring 47 runs of 34 balls but Gautam Gambhir continued and played a brilliant innings of 69 runs from 59 balls. In the end Kolkata Knight Riders achieved the target loosing 2 wickets in 18.2 overs.

For Delhi Daredevils, Wayne Parnell picked up both the wicket.
