In the match no. 26 of the season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 8 Wickets.

Having won the toss at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, Chennai Super Kings elected to field first.

Delhi Daredevils had a good start with both openers playing. In between Delhi lost a few wickets but then Dinesh Karthik came to the wicket and played well scoring 51 runs of just 36 balls and then at the end JP Duminy and Kedar Jadav scored a few handy runs to help Delhi Daredevils to reach a score of 178/5 in 20 overs.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up one wicket each.

Chasing this big score Chennai Super Kings had a good start with both openers playing well. They had a 82 run partnership for the first wicket. Then Dwayne Smith and Raina took the match ahead playing explosively. Dwayne Smith got out for 79 runs of 51 balls hitting 4 boundaries and 8 sixes. Suresh Raina scored unbeaten 48 runs of 27 balls. In the end Chennai achieved the target in the last over.

For Delhi Daredevils, Wayne Parnell and Laxmi Ratan Shukla picked up one wicket each.

Dwayne Smith has been named the Man Of The Match for his spectacular batting performance.

It is the sixth consecutive win for Chennai Super Kings this season, after loosing their first match to Kings XI Punjab.
