Dale Steyn is a right-arm fast bowler, and bowls at speeds of around 145–150 km/h. He is quick, accurate and can swing the ball both ways, in short, Dale Steyn is a batsman’s nightmare.
He played in the first three seaons of IPL (2008, 2009 and 2010) for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the players auction for IPL 2011 he was bought by the Deccan Chargers and he played IPL 2011 and IPL 2012 for them. In 2013 he played for the new owners of the team, the SunRisers Hyderabad.
In last season he took 19 wickets playing 17 matches at an average of 20.21
In six IPL seasons played so far, in 69 matches Dale Steyn has picked up 78 wickets at an average of 21.64 and has also scored 123 runs with the bat.
Ahead of players auction for IPL 2014, he was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 9.5 Crores.
Lets hope that once again Dale Steyn plays well in IPL 2014 for the SunRisers Hyderabad in its debut IPL season.
