Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 Wickets.

Having won the toss, Rajasthan Royals elected to bat first and they posted a total of 185/4 in 20 overs thanks to brilliant batting by their opener Shane Watson who scored the first century in IPL 2013, scoring 101 runs of just 61 balls. Apart from Shane Watson, Struat Binny also scored 36 runs of 22 balls.

For Chennai Super Kings, Dwayne Bravo and R Ashwin took two wickets each.

In Reply, chasing this big score Chennai Super lost Murali Vijay early but then Michael Hussey scored 88 runs of 51 balls and Suresh Raine scored 51 runs of 35 balls. Towards the end they lost a few wickets but then Dwayne Bravo scored the finishing runs to secure the win for his team.

For Rajasthan Royals, James Faulkner took three wickets while Ajit Chandila took one wicket.

Michael Hussey was declared Man of the Match.
