CSK vs RCB IPL 2014 Match 42 Result

In the match no. 42 of the season 7 of Indian Premier League (Pepsi IPL 2014),  Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 Wickets.

Having won the toss at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, Chennai Super Kings elected to bat first on a spinning track.

Chennai Suer Kings lost both their openers early. Suresh Raina played a good knock of 62 runs from 48 balls and David Hussey playing his first game of the season scored 25 runs of 29 balls and in the end team managed to reach a score of 138/4 in their 20 overs.

For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Varun Aaron picked up two wickets while Muttiah Muralitharan and Abu Nechim picked up one wicket each.

Chasing this manageable target, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the wicket of Parthiv Patel early but Chris Gayle and Virat Kolhi had a good partnership to bring the team back into the game. Virat Kolhi got out after scoring 27 runs of 29 balls. Chris Gayle scored 46 runs of 50 balls. AB de Villiers scored a quick-fire 28 of just 14 balls. In the end tam chased the score in the 20th over loosing 5 wickets.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two wickets while Ravindra Jadeja and David Hussey picked up one wicket each.

AB de Villiers was named the Man Of The Match for his brilliant batting performance in the match.

With this win, now Royal Challengers Bangalore have made things easier for them to reach the play-offs of IPL 2014.
