On the eve of the Finals of Pepsi IPL 2013, the coach of the Chennai Super Kings team, Stephen Fleming said to media persons in Kolkata that the players and the support staff of the team were distressed by the allegations and news reports concerning the franchise and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He also added that neither the players nor the support staff of the team have any knowledge of betting and spot fixing.

A day after its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested in connection with the raging spot fixing scam in Indian cricket, CSK issued a handwritten unsigned statement which was read out to the media by coach Stephen Fleming at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
