He is a leg break bowler and a good outfielder who can save good runs for his team in fielding.

After impressing at the U-19 level and spending time at the National Cricket Academy, Chahal graduated to first-class cricket. He made his Ranji Trophy debut for Haryana in 2009.
He has been associated with the Mumbai Indians IPL team since IPL 2011, but it was in 2013 that he got a match to play.
In players auction for IPL 2014, he was bought by RCB team for Rs. 10 lakhs.
Lets hope that he gets a few chances to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2014.
