Today Manish Pandey rose to the occasion and played a brilliant innings of 94 runs of just 50 balls to win the match for Kolkata and make they IPL 2014 Champions.
Chasing a target of 200 runs to win, Kolkata Knight Riders had a poor start loosing the wicket of Orange Cap winner Robin Uthappa in the first over itself. Soon Gautam Gambhir got out. But it was Manish Pandey who kept calm and hit the ball to all parts of the ground.
He hit 7 fours and 6 sixes and always ensured that the required run rate was under 10 runs per over.
