Darren Lehmann – KXIP Coach tells team to Seize the big moments

Former Australian cricketer and coach of Kings XI Punjab, Darren Lehmann on Wednesday advised the team to seize the big moments in the remaining five matches to make an impact in Season 6 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2013).

Darren Lehmann said that his team has played well 80 per cent of the times in most games but have missed out because they failed to seize the big moments.

Currently Kings XI Punjab are placed 6th in the points table with 5 wins from 11 matches.

“We have missed a catch here and there or not taken our chances with bat or ball. We have not been able to get our plans right in crunch situations. However, I thought we did that really well the other night against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the remaining games, we need to make sure we get the 20 per cent right too.” Lehmann said the victory against RCB had instilled a lot of confidence in the team and the KXIP coach did not rule out the possibility of promoting the in-form David Miller, who scored century in 38 balls to defeat RCB.

Today, Kings XI Punjab face a key home match against a strong team Rajasthan Royals.

“I think they have a pretty good team. They have had a similar side for a while now and Rahul (Dravid) has done a good job with the young team. In T20, what matters most is how to start the game and get on the top,” said Lehmann.

Darren Lehmann was previously coach of Deccan Chargers from 2009 to 2012.
